The Historical Society had a packed 2021 focusing on preserving and sharing our town’s history. Museum preservation included volunteers tearing out the museum’s carpeting. And underneath a beautiful floor was discovered with markings where school desks had been attached! The museum’s façade was also touched up with a coat of fresh paint. The recent renovations offered a great opportunity to rearrange the collection so items are more visible and organized.
A wooden spool from the fiber optic cabling project completed in 2021 and funded by a US Government grant greets visitors at the museum entrance with the details artistically wood burned by Jill Hastings.

Look for this historic sign at the museum! The sign was made by Carl Lewis in 1968 and restored by Leigh Callaway in 2018.
